Environmental research

The project aims to improve energy efficiency by piloting the use of renewable energy sources in the target community (Ivanesti village - Livezeni commune). A demonstration centre will be established as a best practice for the use of photovoltaic panels and wind energy. Pilot households in poor, isolated areas where disadvantaged groups live, including Roma ethnic minorities, will be connected to the renewable power system of the centre. The project includes awareness raising on climate change and energy efficiency, training for NGOs/CBOs and youth on how to use renewable energies, as well as advocacy and lobby to improve the legislative framework as concerns implementation of solutions to supply power to households from renewable energy sources and to allow a bidirectional connection of individual producers to the national network of power supply.
