Bio-diversity

The project will address two interrelated problems: (i) The absence of policy paper to assess the implementation of WMA in Crater Mountain, and (ii) The inadequacies in the existing Crater Mountain WMA Laws and the need to strengthen it. To address these problems the project will utilize a holistic methodology involving stakeholder participation in the development of a policy paper to assess WMA implementation and legalizing of CMWMA laws. Target groups/beneficiaries and participation RCF anticipates that the workshops will benefit all stakeholders concerned including major partners, respective government departments of DEC and 14 villages in CMWMA, two (2) respective local level and provincial governments, village and district courts in Karamui and Lufa in Eastern Highlands and Simbu Provinces. . A fundamental concern in this project is the equal and active involvement of women and youth at every stage of the project.
