Samarth Sahakari Sakhar Karkhana is planning an expansion of its molasses-based distillery producing rectified spirit & anhydrous alcohol at Ankushnagar, dist. Jalna, Maharashtra. The capacity will be augmented from 30 KLD to 60 KLD. The project is waiting for environmental clearance. Work on the project is expected to commence in June 2017 & is planned for completion in Q2 2018. According to MoEF sources, the power required for proposed expansion project is 33,960 kwh/day. Existing power generation capacity of the company is 18 MW through co-gen unit. The company has planned to install a separate 2.0 MW capacity turbine for the distillery. Surplus power of 585 Kwh/ hr will be supplied to the grid. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 740.524 million. [Info as of: Feb. `17]
