Bio-diversity

The project on capacity building is in response to the requests of VANGO member-organizations applying for GEF SGP financial assistance. The lack of skills within the civil cociety sectors in project proposal preparation, management and monitoring hinders them to access the GEF SGP and other funding resources that needed cofiancing. As such, the project intends to develop the GEF Grantees skills in the areas of project development, financial management, community-based monitoring and evaluation. The intervention also includes GEF Grantees networking for specific technical assistance and sharing of learning. The Secretary General of VANGO in collaboration with the VEACG will designate a Project Coordinator to oversee the implementation of the project. It is expected that at the end of 18 months, 20 GEF grantees are able to submit proposal, formulate the project (finances, organizational, community-based monitoring) system and procedure, and policies and guidelines. Added to these, an easy to use project operations manual will be crafted as guide of the Grantees while implementing the project.
