Government of Karnataka is planning a trauma care centre on the campus of PKTB Sanatorium on KRS Road, dist. Mysore, Karnataka. The project is in estimation stage. After completion of the estimation, tender will be floated. According to media reports, the government has sanctioned Rs. 50 million for its development. The centre has been proposed at a cost of Rs. 250 million and the remaining funds are expected in the next fiscal. The centre is likely to have four operation theatres, a laboratory, a casualty ward, a blood bank, MRI, CT scan and X-ray facilities, 14 special wards, 11 general wards and four intensive care units. It would consist of departments of neurosurgery, orthopedics, plastic surgery, general surgery and physiotherapy.
