Sarara Chemicals is planning 5,400 TPA synthetic resin manufacturing plant at Village Kuakandar, dist. Darjeeling, West Bengal on 1,335.45 sq.mtrs. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 11.047 million. Ultra-Tech Environmental Consultancy & Laboratory is the environmental consultant. The plant will produce two types of synthetic resin i.e. 3,780 TPA Urea-Formaldehyde Resin (U-F Resin) and 1,620 TPA Phenol-Formaldehyde Resin (P-F Resin). The proportion of U-F resin and P-F resin production is proposed to be at 70: 30 ratios. UF Resin and PF Resin are used in plywood manufacturing for pasting of veneer sheets. The waste water will be around 700L/D generated from kettle washing and floor washing will be sent to ETP for treatment. The project is waiting for environmental clearance. Work on the project is expected to commence in December 2018 & is planned for completion is Q4 2019. [Info as of: Feb. `18]
