Bio-diversity

This project aims to introduce in concrete terms the agricultural practices in the area of`Kurveleshi i Siperm`, particularly of harvest of spontaneous plants with commercial values, providing in the same time the biodiversity protection of the area and increase of local community incomes, in order to ensure a steady rural development. In the end of the project, 20 farmers are intended to be defined as`organic farmers` for trading their production under the label`organic`, in accordance with international standards of IFOAM. The project also aims to establish`a steady link` among the farmers and`organic markets`. Thus, the initiative of gathering all farmers in an`Association of Organic Producers` will be fully supported in this project. Two expeditions will be developed in the zone, to point out the threatened plants by extinction and the present situation of this area. A report will be drafted and a seminar will be held about the results of these expeditions. Public awareness activities will be developed for biodiversity protection. The project achievements will be distributed to a wide range of people using leaflets and mass-media.
