Project Description
This project seeks to establish an effective, innovative and sustainable fire management system within the target communities of Mamuntha and Rochain in Tonkolili District as a biodiversity conservation and sustainable forest management strategy. A Community-based Natural Forest Management (CBNFM) approach that combines ecosystem management with improvement of livelihoods will be used. Community awareness raising, capacity building, woodlot establishment (at least 10 acres) and forest protection (at least 500ha), sustainable livelihoods for women and youth especially and policy influencing will constitute the core outputs of the project.
