Bio-diversity

The Project aims to raise awareness about ghost fishing continuing in depths as a reason of net lost and make a contribution to permanency of biological diversity by cleaning present nets from reef areas. In addition to this; with the educations and knowledge sharing activities for fishermen in target area and local community, it focuses on raising capacities by providing information on sustainability of water products reserves, new fishing gears and method. 20 youngsters assigned in the project will get diving trainings before the implementation. Active participation will be provided in sea cleaning activities of approximately 20 areas determined by questionnaires conducted to fishermen. Our ultimate aim is to reduce the effect of left nets on sea creatures by conducting away these nets which continue on ghost fishing, from these areas.
