TENDER NOTICE
To engage an organization for “Conducting situation analysis and capacity needs
assessment vis-à- vis human wildlife conflict in India” under the Indo-German project
“Human Wildlife Conflict Mitigation” being implemented by MoEFCC and GIZ India
|
The project “Human Wildlife Conflict Mitigation” is supported by the German Federal Ministry for
Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by the Ministry of
Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC), Government of India and Deutsche
Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). The main objective of this project is that
the rural communities in project pilot areas are better protected against human wildlife conflict
after applying agreed mitigation measures. The project focuses on:

- Developing a national strategy and action plan to mitigate human wildlife conflict, SOPs
for managing HWC for key species, and support to states for developing state-level level
action plans
- Pilot application of mitigation instruments for the management of human wildlife conflict
at local level in few selected states (during the project preparation, following state have
been identified: Uttarakhand, Karnataka and West Bengal)
- Facilitating capacity development of institutions and individuals for mitigating human
wildlife conflict at National level and at state-level.

The results of the situation analysis and capacity needs assessment will contribute to
elaboration of the project measures and design of capacity development strategy.
