German Technical Cooperation Tender Notice
for
Handholding of Urban Design Competition at Coimbatore – Tamil under Sustainable Urban Development – Smart City project

Under the Indo German Bilateral Development Cooperation, the focal areas currently are:

  • Energy;
  • Environment and Management of Natural Resources; and
  • Sustainable Urban Development

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and GIZ India are jointly implementing the “Sustainable Urban Development - Smart Cities” (SUD-SC) project. The project supports the National Ministry and the State Governments (Odisha, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala) in the policy formulation on housing for all, basic services, planning framework, and monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It also supports the three select Smart Cities (Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, and Kochi) in implementing concepts of integrated spatial urban development planning.

The objective of this assignment is to

Handhold two Urban Design Competitions in Coimbatore which comprises:

  • Definition of Scope and Design Briefs
  • Support the process of collecting and selecting competition entries
  • Support the development of selected competition entries Crosscutting:
  • Facilitate the public outreach and PR for the competition
  • Facilitate community engagement activities to gain more public support for the project
  • Facilitate Stakeholder engagement (technical experts, government, corporate stakeholders)
  • Scope of follow on contract on completion of phase I as indicated in Terms of Reference
