Under the Indo German Bilateral Development Cooperation, the focal areas currently are:

• Sustainable Urban Development

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) and GIZ India are jointly implementing the “Sustainable Urban Development - Smart Cities” (SUD-SC) project. The project supports the National Ministry and the State Governments (Odisha, Kerala and Tamil Nadu) in the policy formulation on housing for all, basic services, planning framework, and monitoring of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It also supports the three select Smart Cities (Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, and Kochi) in implementing concepts of integrated spatial urban development.

Under developPPP project, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and Hormann KG, are jointly supporting the project on “Improvements to site conditions in Gagillapur (India)” and working with Dundigal Municipality (DM) and Directorate of Municipal Administration, Telangana as Partners. The Dundigal Municipality aspires for preparation of Integrated Master Plan. GIZ proposes to provide technical support in digital data documentation exercise towards formulation of master plan of the newly formed municipality and prepare detailed master plan for Gagillapur ward.

The Dundigal Municipality is spread over a geographical area of 35 square Kms. The Municipality is 30 Kms toward north of Hyderabad and falls within the Greater Hyderabad Municipality (GHMC) outer Ring Road. The Dundigal Municipality constituted vide GO Ms No.93, dated 18.04.2018 by merging 5 villages, Bowrampet, Mallampet, DP Pally, Bahadurpally and Gagillapur in Medchal-Malkajgiri District. This municipality houses about 73 industries. The overall town population is 47.456 inhabitants and the number of Houses is 15.456.
